Life can feel overwhelming — grief, trauma, stress, or anxiety that you can’t even name. That doesn’t mean something’s wrong with you. It just means you need the right support. At Mates Matter Counselling, we’re here to help you make sense of it.
Everyone could use a little help sometimes.
Family and friends often mean well, but sometimes you need someone who truly hears you. At Mates Matter Counselling, you’ll be listened to without judgement or bias. You’ll get clarity, support, and practical tools to help untangle your thoughts and move forward.
Feeling sad, empty, or disconnected is more common than you might think. It can be part of anxiety or depression, or just the weight of carrying too much alone. Counselling helps you find the source of those feelings, take small steps forward, and rediscover hope.
If it all feels too much, forget the big plans. Just take one step — book a session. Together we’ll work it out.
Sessions are available face-to-face (in-person) or online via Zoom.

My experiences within the armed forces, education and health sectors and private industry have shown me that no person is exempt from moments of grief, anxiety and struggle. Everyone needs to feel heard. Whether you need a qualified and experienced listening ear — or a more involved therapeutic cognitive-based plan — your journey to healing begins here by simply asking for help.
I have a special focus on men’s issues, parent-child relationships, anxiety, depression and psychological distress. I bring a wide range of valuable experience and passion to my work and, when we’ll supported, believe in my client's ability to find their answers.
